Tom found out that he was visiting a new Rehab on the west coast this week and was very excited about this. We arranged to meet up for lunch and a chat, but unfortunately Tom didn’t show up. I attempted to ring him, but no answer. I eventually talked to Tom on Wednesday and he was still revelling in the upcoming challenges albeit very apprehensive. We arranged to meet up on Friday as he was heading down to view the Rehab on Thursday with his worker. Friday came and he failed to attend again so I phoned his worker and he said that Tom was in good spirits and will be entering rehab next Thursday or Friday; this put my mind at rest a little!
I bumped into Tom in the street and he told me not to worry and that he was just having a “last few blow outs” before he went into rehab and reassured me that he was still raring to go into rehab. I’m away next week so won’t be able to keep up to date on Tom’s progress so asked his Worker to let us (the team) know if anything goes askew.
