What happens next?
Our outreach team will use information provided by you to go out to look for people sleeping rough on the streets. When our outreach workers find a person sleeping rough, they’ll do an assessment with that person to understand what support they need.
However, not everyone wishes to access emergency accommodation. We work with that individual based on what they want to do, not what we think they need, while providing practical support and information.
Working with people one-on-one can take time. Building relationships and trust takes time, especially when individuals have been let down in the past.
Our service doesn’t include:
Private or emergency accommodation
We can’t accept second hand clothing donations
We don’t currently accept any food donations that aren’t ‘dry’ – pasta, tins, etc
Common questions
I've seen someone sleeping rough, what should I do?
If you know someone is sleeping rough, please use Streetlink to report them as they’ll alert the local outreach teams. Please give them as much information as possible, including their exact location.
Can I access emergency accommodation if I have my dog with me?
Two kennels are now available at one hostel in Leeds. If you have a dog with you, please let Leeds Housing Options know so they can take that into account when looking for accommodation.
Do I have to pay for emergency accommodation?
An individual who has no recourse to public funds will not be eligible for housing support or emergency accommodation.
